| The Gulf Hammock Rat hails from the
Big Bend region of Florida. My specimens come from Levy County,
which is the center of the williamsi range. Many consider theses
snakes to be intergrades between spiloides and quadrivittata,
but they are distinct from intergrades from other areas.
Theses snakes display a combination of stripes and blotches
throughout life. Many babies from my bloodline have a dark
"hurricane motley" pattern which fades to a pleasant mahogany
brown color as the snakes age. The ground color is light gray
and may even have a slight pinkish tinge. I produced theses from
the first time last year and many people commented that they
were the nicest examples of this form that they had ever seen. |
